Audit 1.1 Section C - Career Development Plan

Where I am now:

I am currently a student studying RSL Acting Level 3 Diploma, A-level Geography and A-level English Language.

I aspire to go onto a scholarship course in Acting.

Where I want to be:

- I want to be on TV and films

- Be well known as an actress and to get awards for my work.

Short Term Goals:

S- I want to leave college with the grade in Acting of Distinction

M- To do this I will attend as many lessons possible and complete all work to the best standard I can achieve.

A- I shall continuously persevere with my acting to keep my determination and motivation strong.

R- By completing this with full motivation, my grade at the end of the course with hopefully be enough for me to apply for a scholarship or to go to university for Acting.

T- I will complete this course at the end of the two years and will hopefully leave in summer of 2025 with a distinction in acting.

I have chosen this goal as not only is it a step towards my acting career, it is proof of my dedication and passion I have towards acting. By working hard every lesson and focusing on what is to be done will help me achieve this, and if I do, I shall feel like I had done my full potential and will be very proud of myself.

G- My immediate goal is to get a distinction in RSL Acting

R- I have earned a distinction at GCSE level and carried on my education to a higher level.

O- Completing work in the lesson to my best standard so I have more time to focus on homework and revision for this subject. This means I can gain my knowledge without being behind or missing information

W- Use my knowledge and experience in acting to apply to agencies and grow a career in acting for films where my dream will be achieved.

Action Plan:

In order for me to earn and achieve a distinction at RSL level I will:

  • Complete all assigned work before the deadline.
  • Attend all my lessons as much is possible.
  • Ask for help in areas I am unsure on to make sure I have full understanding throughout the course.

Mid-term Goals:

S- I want to complete a scholarship in Acting or/ and apply to agencies to build my knowledge and my possible future career.

M- I will use past experiences and rejections to improve and better myself in my acting and applying.

A- I will be determined and resilient when applying for roles.

R- By doing this I will hopefully be accepted and my dream career can begin

T- There is no exact time of when it will happen, however I am to start when I leave college and to persistently try.

I have chosen this goal as it is a key point of an actors life to get themselves into the industry, however I may go and do a scholarship as I will get full time tuition in acting furthering my practise and helping build my talent. However, if I decide to go straight into applying for roles and get one, I will be overjoyed with the outcome and will pursue my career in acting as far as possible.

Action plan

  • Apply to multiple roles or scholarships
  • Don't give up on rejection and to keep trying
  • Ask for advise if/when rejected to improve myself.

Long Term Goals:

S- To one day be in a film/ TV series and to be well known (and famous).

M- Apply to as many agencies and to not give up if I'm rejected from movie roles

A-To be persistent and be willing to be open to all roles.

R- By doing this my career as an actress will hopefully build up alongside with my popularity fulfilling my dream.

T- I will do this hopefully when I have finished getting my qualifications and will try for as long as I can.

I have chosen this goal as it has been my dream since a young age and to be a well-known actor, featured in multiple films and TV shows. If I am able to make this dream a reality one day, I will be truly happy as I will have persistently pushed myself into completing what I enjoy most.

Action plan

  • Keep applying for roles to build my name.
  • Play a variety of characters to find which sort of genre of film or character profile suits me best.
  • Take opportunities given to me, no matter what.

Strengths:

  • I am passionate and dedicated to acting
  • Time management and Punctuality is a skill I am great at
  • I am versatile and can adapt easily and quickly
  • I can memorize lines easily and swiftly
  • I'm open to try new things
  • Achieved a Distinction for GCSE

Weaknesses:

  • I'm not always confident in what I'm doing which may hold me back as I may not come across as passionate as I feel towards acting.
  • I also can have quite a monotone voice/face when I'm talking as I sometimes forget to focus on my vocal skills and facial expressions when acting which could mean that I could not be taken onto roles I have applied for.

Opportunities:

  • I have performed in multiple rolls in the past including 'Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat' and 'A Christmas Carol' where I played supporting roles.
  • I studies Drama for GCSE for 5 years proving my dedication to acting and gave a general understanding and basis of what's involved in theatre and acting.
  • I am currently studying Level 3 Diploma in Acting which is continuously broadening my knowledge and skills.
  • I have watched a variety of films from Sci-fi to Action to Horror which helped me understand the different acting styles within different genres.

Threats:

  • I may lose potential roles as I may not concentrate on my vocal skills or facial expressions as much in an audition limiting my chances of being accepted.
  • I might not get a distinction at a-level, reducing my possibility to have further education afterwards.
  • I might not be confident in a film industry environment and leave the industry due to the pressure.
