Promotional Statement Reflection

Reflection:

Using both feedback from my peers and teacher upon my original promotional statement, I have recorded a new one working on the things I need to improve. I've now started my video by introducing myself which immediately improves the videos structure. Another thing I have made sure I do is work on my face. One of my peers noticed how, even though my voice sounded energised, my face looked quite bored, therefore I have taken extra care in what my face expressions are which lightens up the video. To make my statement for entertaining for the viewer(s), I have spaced out each section instead of rushing all the points down at once. By doing this, I have been able to emphasis certain terms to highlight what I'm good at helping me become more concise with what I'm saying.

New Script:

Hi, my names Pippa Gray. I am a year 12 student who is currently studying RSL acting for A-level. Here is my promotional statement:

As an actress, I am passionate, with experience in both stage theatre and acting for camera. Some of my experience for stage theatre was for a school production, "Joseph and the Technicolour Dream Coat''. Here, I sung and danced to a large audience for the first time as I was resolute to broaden my experiences, highlighting my willingness and determination to build new skills.

Another time I have performed on stage was when I helped at a local drama club. I spent lots of time working with and supporting young bright actors and actresses to help improve their skills. I encouraged them by joining in in the small plays they performed to a small audience, accentuating my commitment and dedication skills.

My experience for acting for camera comes from my GCSE performance. Acting for camera is my preferred acting style, so my enjoyment for it led me to achieve a distinction in my GCSE for drama. I learnt how to act in more of a discreet, naturalistic way, broadening my variety of skills for acting. Also it helped me understand the environment of film, which is the domain I hope to work for in the future.

Together, all of this experience in acting has gradually built my confidence not only as an actress but as a person myself, alongside with my love for acting.

This supported my ability to improvise, making our performance flexible to whatever situation occurred. Learning this outline in plenty of time meant that I could focus on my physical acting, including movement and facial expressions, overall improving my performance. sorted staging and lighting  Planning our lighting helped with my directing practise widening my skills and experience.
